• Henry VIII had two sisters Margaret and Mary, the latter of which married the King of France on her brothers orders and later married Charles Brandon in secret. However on the show Henry only has one sister, Margaret who marries and then murders The King of Portugal. In reality Margaret was married to James IV of Scotland and it was Mary who disobeyed her brothers orders by marrying Brandon.

• The ages of most characters are wrong. Henry is said to be 25 when the show opens, by the third episode he has 'noticed' Anne Boleyn and is trying too woo her. However Henry was in his late 30's when he began dating Anne, who was a decade younger than him. Also Catherine of Aragon was only 6 years Henry's senior although the show makes her out to be much older than him.

• Henry's illegitimate son by Lady Blount died when he was 17, in 1536, a month after the execution off Anne Boleyn. On the show Henry Fitzroy dies around the age of 3.

• Cardinal Wolsey did not commit suicide, after being accused of treason he began the journey to London and died on the way this was in 1530.

• Although Henry was present at Anne's coronation he stayed out of view to give his new Queen all the attention she deserved.

• In the 10th episode of the first season Thomas Wyatt claims to have slept with Anne. Although no evidence has been provided to prove that Anne did or did not sleep with Wyatt it is very unlikely, due to her strong religious beliefs that she did. Simply, Anne was not the whore everyone likes to make out.
